JLM
Wholesale, Inc. is a highly successful wholesaler of electronic
locks, biometric readers, door hardware, and access control systems.
They already had a functioning B2B e-commerce site when they approached
Balanced Interactive to assist them designing a new web site who's
audience would be small businesses and consumers.
Elocktronics is the name of they selected for the
new site. They didn't have a logo yet and hadn't made any decision
on how the site should look except that it needed to work well with
the existing E-commerce system.

After meeting with some of the JLM Wholesale staff
and reviewing the current JLM Wholesale web site, Balanced Interactive
came up with several suggestions to make the site more customer
friendly. These included easy to find utility links at the top of
the page, popular product links in the header section of each page,
a standardized search feature on nearly every page of the site,
a "Vendor Quick Link" for customers who knew which companies products
they needed or liked, and phone numbers at the top of each page.
Several different logo designs were developed by
Balanced Interactive. The locking "e" logo was selected by JLM Wholesale
staff because it reinforced their name. The simple logo design also
works well with both in print and on the web.
After the Elocktronics
web site was created, JLM wholesale was so pleased with the
new design that the requested the Balanced Interactive adapt the
same interface for their JLM
Wholesale site. To make the two sites easy to manage Balanced
Interactive custom created new JLM Wholesale graphics so that the
two sites pages can use nearly identical web pages.
